I particularly like the area around the eye, which you've captured the luster in beautifully. The great amount of detail that you have included goes a long way towards establishing textures; the difference in the "feel" of the leather as opposed to the skin of the horse. And the little chin whiskers! Nice touch.
The fade on the neck works very well, too. Keep up the great work, and I look forward to see what you will be submitting in the future.
